Scott NelsonScott joined the WPT Broadcast team in 2004 as the Badger Football color analyst. Football fans may remember his name as Scott played for the Badgers from 1990-1993. He started at free safety for four years, most notably the 1993 Big Ten Championship, and 1994 Rose Bowl Championship team.
Scott started a total of 39 games for the Badgers and ended his career in the top ten overall for tackles (323), second for interceptions (14), and is still tied for first in fumbles recovered (7). In his first collegiate and Big Ten start, Scott had his first interception and 23 tackles against the Iowa Hawkeyes. He was selected Honorable Mention All Big Ten as a junior and received the Ivan B. Williamson Scholarship award as a senior.
In addition to his great insight as a player, Scott brings both radio and television experience to WPT. He has provided color commentary for WIAA State Football Championships, for the Badgers on ESPN Regional broadcasts as well as pre- and post-game analysis for WIBA Radio.
Scott earned his undergraduate degree in sociology from UW-Madison in 1993 and his Master's degree in athletic administration from Western Michigan University in 1998.
