Prog. 2201: Pattern Fitting with Confidence

Nancy shares her simplified approach to pattern fitting. Start the fitting process by purchasing the right size pattern and learning to take measurements necessary for simple changes. Nancy and guest Donna Fenske demonstrate easy, contemporary ways of making yo-yo circles, hearts, and flowers; then use them as dimensional accents to decorate projects and make adorable fabric critters. Positive and negative appliqué, quilt border trim, dimensional circles, and a free form sew-on belt are some of the unique features used to turn simple jackets into original designer creations.

Explore creative possibilities as you capture photo memories on fabric. Nancy enlists the help of designer Rochelle Stibb in showing how to use a favorite photo to create a gorgeous poster size wall quilt. Learn how to select and tile photos, print on fabric, choose borders, audition decorative corners, and add bias trim. You'll be amazed at how this easy designing process yields dynamic wall quilts!

Add a designer's touch to a photo memory quilt and produce an inspirational keepsake. Rochelle Stibb's artistic talent is apparent as she presents awe-inspiring photo memory quilts of her children. She and Nancy explore options for creating these one of a kind treasures! Skillful stippling and an interesting variety of threads make these photo images lifelike, and a novel method of quilt blocking makes them picture perfect.

Prog. 2212: Already Cut, Ready to Quilt

Use trend setting precut and prepackaged quilting fabrics to streamline the quilting process. Nancy reviews precut fabric options, then shows how to incorporate precuts as quick and easy design elements. She demonstrates making a streamlined Quilt Columns Baby Quilt, plus she creates a Block Bonanza table quilt combining Jelly Roll accent strips with big bold blocks subcut from Double Wide Strips.

Prog. 2213: Already Cut, Ready to Quilt

Simplify the quilting process with precut fabrics — your creative design completes the quilt top. Pair together a collection of Jelly Roll strips for a fast-to-sew quilt top with a visual twist, or use fat quarters to streamline making a quilt top with half-square triangles. Nancy details the techniques in this new approach to quick quilting as she makes a Dueling Strips quilt and Fat-free Triangles.

They share ideas to enhance ten sweatshirts with appliqués and ribbing details plus simple changes to hemlines and center fronts for adorable cardigans and jackets. Ruffles and Frills, a Little Princess Jacket, a Dress-up Cardigan, and the Construction Zone Sweatshirt are just few of the makeovers.

Prog. 2216: Sweatshirts For All Seasons

Take a wardrobe basic (the sweatshirt), call in the goddess of makeovers, and transformations abound! Nancy and guest Mary Mulari take one makeover style cardigan and transform it with thirteen different variations for the seasons. They streamline steps for a simple asymmetrical placket and utilize faux-suede appliqués. They highlight appliqué and tie closures, as well as Mary's favorite pigtail holder ties. Flower and Vines, Patriotic, Christmas, and more are featured in this magical transformation of sweatshirts.

Get serging — this series is the prescription for serger phobia. Easy projects with a goal to get you serging — that is precisely what Nancy and guest Georgie Melot have accomplished. Combine rich fabrics and flip and sew techniques to create wearable art that has sophistication and style.
