Programs on Wisconsin Public Television Honor Native American Heritage Month

During November, Native-American Heritage Month, Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) will broadcast several programs that acknowledge and celebrate the rich ancestry, traditions and invaluable contributions of Native Americans.
At 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, Independent Lens “Power Paths” highlights Native-American traditional values regarding conservation and the earth, and offers tangible solutions to America's energy crisis.
At 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, Earl's Canoe features Ojibwe master craftsman Earl Nyholm building a traditional birchbark canoe on Madeline Island, ancestral home of his people.
At 10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, Way of the Warrior examines the visceral nature of war and the bravery of Native-American veterans who served in 20th-century wars.
