Art Hackett

Art Hackett is a producer on field segments for In Wisconsin, WPT's weekly magazine program featuring stories about people, places and matters uniquely Wisconsin. He also contributes segments and serves as back-up anchor on Here and Now, WPT's news and public affairs program covering Wisconsin issues and airing statewide.

During his 27 years at WPT, Hackett also produced numerous segments for The Wisconsin Magazine and WeekEnd, an award-winning news and public affairs program that aired for 10 years statewide. He has produced several documentaries including Children of the Revolution, a look at life in Russia immediately after the demise of the Soviet Union; A Search for Sustenance, one of the first programs to report on the growth of sustainable agriculture in Wisconsin; and Delta Journey, which chronicled a long-running exchange program involving children from Wisconsin and the Mississippi Delta.

A native of Houston, Hackett worked as a reporter for WMT-TV (now KGAN-TV) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and KWWL-TV in Waterloo, Iowa. He also worked in radio news in Texas, Nebraska and Iowa.

Hackett is the recipient of numerous awards from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, the Northwest Broadcast News Association and
the Milwaukee Press Club. He also received a citation from the DuPont-
Columbia Awards for excellence in broadcast journalism.
