She loved him
He didn't know
His love for her
He'd never show

He saw her walking
In the hall
She stumbled once
But did not fall

But he'd catch her
Before she'd land
And upon standing
She'd take his hand

They'd walk together
Through the door
And talk about each other
And so much more

The one time nerd
And still the jock
They'd complete each other
Like a key and lock

But this is now
And that was then
The time not spent together
Way back when

Because when he saw her
Walking in the hall
She happened to stumble
Yet did not fall

He didn't have to catch her
Before she'd land
But she kept on walking
Without touching his hand

Their lives continued
As the Lord above
Watched them below
And this imperfect love
