My Dog

I have a dog
Who likes to hog
        my blankets,
        the kitchen rug,
        our couch.
I have a dog
Who likes to hug
        my stuffed turtle,
        our pillows,
        and me.
I have a dog
Who's a brat!
        stares at strangers,
        barks like crazy,
        run around until they're gone.
I have a dog
Who hates
        other dogs,
        lime jello,
        and boys.
I have a dog
Who loves
        joy soap,
        new tennis balls,
        and dragging me on walks.
I have a dog
Who misses me
When I am gone.
And I miss her
If she's not there.
My dog!
