Dark Red

When I see dark red
It seems as if
I'm falling to the ground,
To the underworld,
Taking me far away.

Dark red feels
Like burning fire,
Surrounding me,
Burning my hand,
Making me scream out loud.

Dark red is the
Taste of hot red peppers
Burning my tongue,
Making me run for
Cold icy water.

Dark red is the
Rumbling of a volcano
Sizzling, bubbling,
Bursting out,
A moving stream of lava.

Dark red is the
Devil popping up
Filling me with anger,
Pulling me to his evil depths,
Taking away my life.
