What is poetry?
A series of words that has to rhyme,
Synonymous syllables and having a good time?
Or is it free like the enchanting breeze
Upon rolling hills of green grass
Expanding on a path unknown?
Poetry is what it is to the individual.
To me, poetry isn't poetry unless I can feel it.
Grab hold, embrace, release,
And still feel that vibe within the veins of my body.
Poetry drips from my tongue
And the words take charge of my comatose body
And move it like a marionette.
Hands clapping, fingers snapping, toes tapping, voices rapping.
The beat surrounds and engulfs my body
And there's no going back now.
It has me.
It has me!
AND I SCREAM!
HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Boom-da-doc-dabing-bang!
Can you feel it? Can you feel it?
It has drenched my body and is strained out ever so slowly.
And it seeps out, but is kept in at all times.
It takes my hand and it does not let go.
To me, poetry is moving.
To me, poetry is hypnotizing.
To me. . . poetry is music without music.
