What's Left for Tomorrow
(both poems total 1:26)
by Brett

For all our days together
Has it been nothing more than time
The respect you never gave me
And all the times you made me cry
The tears kept falling
Mixed with all the blood that was shed
With this hatred inside
And the anger that runs through my head
How can I replace
What was never really there
Here's what I have left in my eyes
Just a cold and empty stare
What's left for tomorrow
Is gone today
The light in your life
Has now dimmed to gray
Am I dead to the world
Or simply fading away
My mind is now blank
And I'm still in a daze
What could I give you
To show you that you're wrong
Once upon a day
When we all got along

Firewall

I don't care
You think I'm insane
I don't care
You say its my fault
But I won't be blamed
Take your stupidity
Take your self-righteousness
And find another god to hate
Fight it back with all your false sincerity
You claim to be wise
And in the end we'll all find out
You're just a withering hypocrite
Take your guns
Lock them up and hide your children safely
Close your eyes and keep them in the dark
You think that ignorance will save them
Truth will find you
And in the end we'll all die standing
But those who are slow to believe
Through resistance and profanity
They shall be redeemed
For they are sacred
And they are honored in the Great Inferno
