My inner poet looks like a normal
8th grade girl that has something on
her mind
She sees what my friends really
mean when they give me advice
Her favorite song is
the warm-up we sung in 6th grade choir
titled "This Pretty Planet"
Her favorite colors are baby yellow and
lavender
She has never told anyone why I
never finished those few
math assignments
She wants me to tell the truth
in life instead of making up lies
about why I'm home late
My inner poet is as old as the earth
but as young as a new born baby.
She knows what everyone around me
is thinking and dreaming
