On Saturday, January 19th Door County 4-H hosted a writing workshop
with Ellen Kort, Wisconsin's Poet Laureate. Ellen shared her stories
and observations with the kids that influenced the subjects of her poems.
During the poetry workshop Ellen guided the youth through exercises
to find their inner poets. In another exercise the poets worked at describing
unique objects for poetic and descriptive influence. Samples of their
work can be seen on this site.
