Community Film Screenings

Libraries, historical societies, veterans’ groups and other interested community organizations are invited to host community screenings of a powerful new documentary from Wisconsin Public Television, highlighting stories of sacrifice and courage from Wisconsin’s Vietnam Veterans.

In May 2010, Vietnam War Veterans and their families are invited to a special Welcome Home Celebration at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The big event will include several days of concerts and reunions, as well as exhibits including The Moving Wall.

Wisconsin Vietnam StoriesA powerful new documentary coming in 2010
Wisconsin Vietnam veteran Daniel Pierce discusses his experiences in Vietnam, his lasting emotional connection to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. and the soldiers whose names are etched upon it. Daniel Pierce is just one of the many veterans who are sharing their memories of Vietnam for the latest in WPT’s portrayal of war through firsthand accounts — Wisconsin Vietnam War Stories.

Photographer James Gill took portraits of the veterans who participated in the television project as a tribute to their service. These large-format color photographs provide insight into the veterans' memories and experiences, which they carry long after the wars end.
