Keeping Our Lakes Healthy
Since 1924, UW-Madison has operated an internationally renowned limnology research lab on Trout Lake. Limnology is the study of fresh water lakes. The range of experiments runs from monitoring mercury contamination in fish to studying the effect exotic species like the zebra mussel have on lakes.
