Forest Fragmentation creates many stresses on the northern landscape,
and a land management plan needs to be created.
Forest Fragmentation Project Director John Grosman
joins WeekEnd to discuss what private landowners in Northern Wisconsin
need to know about this growing problem.
You can attend a state summit on this issue on
Thursday, July 12. The summit is designed to encourage open discussion
among researchers, private landowners, county board supervisors,
industry foresters and recreation trail users.State legislators
will also be invited to attend.
The forest fragmentation advisory board will meet
in August to summarize the summit results and use this input to
guide future decisions on the issue.
