FALL LAWN CARE

From August 15 to Thanksgiving is a great time to take advantage of cool weather to keep your lawn healthy all year long. Doing the right thing for your lawn now makes it healthier in the spring. The first thing to do is repair any areas of dead grass or places that are full of weeds. This is the best time to plant seed or lay sod. Next, control weeds that have taken over areas where your lawn is weak. You will want to fertilize your lawn twice during this 2.5 month period -- the first time around labor day weekend. Remove thatch buildup and finally, mow y your lawn until grass stops growing sometime in late October or early November. This helps lawns thicken up for the winter.
