Corporate Development Manager

Michael directs WPT's program for corporate and business sponsorships, providing companies and organizations with opportunities to support WPT's mission, programming and projects with their in-kind, grant, and financial contributions.

Michael began his career with over 18 years in nonprofit leadership as a PreK-12 educator — starting in the classroom as a teacher and advancing to school administration as a principal and superintendent. Working in private schools, he engaged in work with major gifts, capital campaigns, strategic planning and corporate support. As his career progressed, he saw a natural fit with the community-oriented and educational missions of WPT.

Michael holds a M.S. in Continuing Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a PreK-12 School Superintendent License from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities graduate school, and a B.A. in Philosophy from St. John's Seminary College in Boston.

Michael is a current, active member of the Madison West Towne-Middleton Rotary Club, a school district volunteer for Madison schools, and an instructor and faculty associate with the UW-Madison School of Human Ecology's Community Nonprofit Leadership program, writing and teaching undergraduate courses for aspiring nonprofit leaders. He frequently presents seminars and workshops on nonprofit leadership topics at University of Wisconsin System professional development events and to adult learners in the community.

Residing with his wife and two children in Madison, Michael is an avid birder and enjoys the "silent sports," of canoeing, kayaking and biking.
