CONCERTS ON THE SQUARE

Summer 2008
Wisconsin Public Television brings back Concerts on the Square®, featuring the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra in performance on the State Capitol grounds in Madison.
The Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra's Concerts on the Square® is celebrating its 25th year in 2008. Led by Maestro Andrew Sewell, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra performed six concerts from June to August.
This year, WPT is pleased to offer three broadcast programs of highlights from the following concerts:

Musical selections include " Rhapsody in Blue," "Victory at Sea" and a medley from Lerner and Loewe's "My Fair Lady."

Hymn of the Republic."

Sound the Trumpet
Ryan Anthony, trumpet
Musical selections include "Carnival of Venice" and "Galop From the Overture to William Tell."

Each year, concertgoers arrive early to claim prime space on the Capitol lawn, turning the grounds into a sea of blankets. Balloons and picnic baskets decorate the Square. And then the music begins.
