WPT "White Deer" Video Finds Internet Fame...

The segment below from WPT's In Wisconsin, about a herd of rare white deer in Northern Wisconsin, has been viewed online more than 1.5 million times, becoming an Internet hit.

The segment, which features stunning footage of a white deer herd in Boulder Junction and interviews with Mercer wildlife photographer Jeff Richter and Manitowish naturalist John Bates, originally aired on In Wisconsin in March.

Soon after, a visitor to In Wisconsin's Web site shared the link on StumbleUpon, an Internet community that allows users to suggest Web sites to other Internet users who have similar interests. From there, the video's link spread via email, was shared on other environmental-and outdoor-themed Web forums and was the top ranked video on the PBS homepage, pbs.org.
