Last week WPT launched a new Digital TV broadcast lineup, which offers full-time high-definition capabilities, an award-winning
Wisconsin PBS Kids program schedule that is available more than 11 hours each day and an expanded broadcast day for The Wisconsin Channel. To learn how you can receive WPT's digital channel lineup and to ensure you are ready for next February's digital TV transition now, visit the
Digital TV Web site.
- WPT-HD - WPT's signature service features Wisconsin PBS Kids and in-school programs during the day, The NewsHour With Jim Lehrer at 6 p.m. weekdays, how-to, music and entertainment programs on the weekend, and the best educational, news and documentary programs from WPT and PBS each night -- all available in high-definition when available.
- The Wisconsin Channel - This channel features programs from around the state, highlighting the people, places and issues affecting Wisconsin residents.
- WPT Create - This channel features the best of public television's how-to programs, including cooking, home improvement, art, gardening and more. This channel also is home to Wisconsin PBS Kids programs from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. weekdays, allowing parents to find their children's favorite shows when WPT-HD is offering in-school programming.

My family already misses the PBS Kids subchannel. Why was it dropped?
In order to re-allign WPT's channel lineup to include a fulltime HD channel, WPT was only able to include two additional standard definition channels within the available digital broadcast bandwidth.
In doing so, WPT Create was altered to include Wisconsin PBS Kids programs from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., while WPT-HD is broadcasting in-school programs.
This means that at any time from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays, Wisconsin PBS Kids programs can be found either on WPT-HD or WPT Create. While this shift allows for more than 11 hours of children's programs each day, there are some programs that are no longer available on the air.
Please feel free to let WPT's audience services department know which shows you'd like to see on Wisconsin PBS Kids at comments@wpt.org. Thanks for watching!
I have been trying to locate the name of a person that I can "pitch" an idea for Wisconsin stories. Can you help me with that?
